A symbol of hot summer days.
'Koori'
Ashinano, Hitoshi. 1997. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. Chapter 25. Vol. 4, Page 33, Panel 1.
'Koori' (ice) on a square flag is a sign that says the restaurant has kaki-goori.
It is often drawn in manga as a symbol of the summer.
Kaki-goori is a kind of dessert made of shaved ice and syrup.
A kaki-goori with red syrup is called koori-ichigo. 'Ichigo' is the Japanese word for "strawberry" but koori-ichigo does not contain any strawberry-derived ingredients.
Alpha's 'koori' in chapter 86 is just a piece of ice with syrup. It is not supposed to be like that!
Alpha should get a machine called "ice shaver" or "ice slicer" like Swan's or Hatsuyuki's:

Maybe you can figure out how it works.
You don't need strong teeth like Alpha's to eat kakigoori.
Reed screen is another symbol of the summer.
